Open data: a page for every state's dataset, and counts of how it is used
Each state and the whole country now have a dataset page with a card, a viewer for the free sample, files and releases, code to copy, and public usage.

Our open data was one long page. Now each state has its own dataset, laid out the way developers and 211s expect to find data, and we count how it is used without keeping anything about the people who use it.
- Every dataset in one list. localcarehub.org/open-data shows the whole country and each state as a card: services, when it was updated, the CC BY 4.0 license for our own research, downloads in the last 30 days and a small line of daily use. Search by name, or filter by state, kind of help or record type.
- A dataset card for each state. What is in it, how we build and check it, every field in each HSDS table, known gaps, how to cite it, and the license. Beside it, the free sample to download and full access through a partnership, with the form opening right there.
- Browse the free sample. The data viewer is a table of the sample you can sort and filter by kind of help, record type, county or city, and name. Pick a row to see every field. It shows the sample and nothing more, with or without a key.
- Files and releases. Each state’s sample file and full file with sizes and counts, and each release with what was added, updated and retired since the one before. The first release is October 10, 2026, with 102,438 services.
- Code to copy. curl, Python and JavaScript, filled in for the state, plus the same with a partner key, the OpenAPI file and a link to the API docs.
- Usage, in public. API requests and downloads per day for 90 days, free sample and partners, and the top endpoints. Partner use shows only when three or more partners add to a number, rounded to the nearest 10, so no partner can be picked out.
- Counts only. We count the day, the dataset, the part of the API and whether it was the sample or a partner. We keep no network addresses, browsers, emails or full addresses. Servers count in memory and send the numbers together every two minutes. Our team sees the same counts in more detail, by partner key and from opening a dataset to asking for a partnership.
- Every old link still works, and the access stays the same: about 1 in 10 services free with no key, everything for partners.
