Government agencies get their own list, and organizations can claim their page
Government agencies now have their own list at /agencies, the Organizations list shows only nonprofits and companies, and every page has a way to claim it.

Prepared for release. This change has not been deployed.
The Organizations list mixed 680 government agencies with a dozen nonprofits, so the nonprofits were hard to find. /agencies and /government did not exist, and an organization had no way to say a page was theirs.
Now there are two lists with tabs at the top:
- Government agencies at /agencies: 727 federal, state, tribal, county and city agencies. Search by name, short name like DSHS, or a program, and filter by state and level. /government goes there too.
- Organizations at /organizations: 284 nonprofits, foundations and companies, including the groups behind places in Help nearby, like food banks and community health centers.
- Every page has “Claim this page”. An agency joins with a work email. A nonprofit or company claims its places in Help nearby, or the page itself, and a person on the Front Door team checks it. Once approved, the page says “Confirmed by the organization”.
- Old links to an agency’s page still work and land on its new page.
- Search, the menu and the account’s search box show agencies and organizations as separate groups.
