Job centers, youth and reentry programs, and unemployment links in every state
Front Door now shows American Job Centers, youth and reentry job programs, workforce boards, apprenticeship offices and each state's unemployment insurance links, from CareerOneStop.

When you lose a job, the first two stops are your state’s unemployment office and the American Job Center near you. Job centers are free. They help you look for work, write a resume, find training and apply for unemployment. Front Door now shows them in every state and DC, from CareerOneStop, the U.S. Department of Labor’s career site.
- About 2,100 American Job Centers, 2,500 youth job programs, 1,300 reentry programs for people leaving jail or prison, 560 workforce boards and 196 apprenticeship offices, with their addresses, phones, websites and hours as CareerOneStop lists them.
- County and city pages have a new section, “Job help near” the place, after the nonprofits. A place with no job center of its own lists the closest ones. The area’s workforce board and the state’s unemployment links come with it.
- Each state’s Work page and the “Lost a job” page now start with the state’s unemployment link and “Find the American Job Center nearest you”: type a ZIP code and see the closest ones, with how far each one is. “Leaving jail or prison” lists reentry programs first.
- Ask “I lost my job” or “I just got out of prison” with your ZIP code or city, and the answer starts with the job help closest to you.
- The Work and Education pages link CareerOneStop’s own finders for what we do not copy: jobs, local training, certifications, licenses, salaries, scholarships, apprenticeships, and programs for older workers, farmworkers and people on disability benefits.
- Every section with CareerOneStop’s listings shows their logo and credits the U.S. Department of Labor and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, which runs CareerOneStop. We show their listings as they give them and check them every week.
- These listings are not in our open data feed. CareerOneStop shares the same data for free through its own API, and the open data page links it.
