Mail it for me, and faxes that reach the right person

Front Door can now mail or fax your signed form, your answer to a letter, or the document an agency asked for. You read it and approve it first. Faxes coming in reach only the person they are for.

Some agencies still want paper. After you signed a DSHS 14-001 on Front Door, you still had to print it, find an envelope and a stamp, and get to a mailbox. Now Front Door can do that part.

  • Mail it for me. On a signed paper form, a drafted answer to a letter, a reply, or a task that asks for a document in your vault, choose “Mail it for me”. Front Door puts a cover letter on top with your case number, what is in the envelope, and the agency’s address, and mails it through Lob.
  • You read it first. The page shows where it goes, the whole cover letter word for word, and every page as a PDF. Nothing goes until you press Approve, and what goes is exactly what you read. Social Security numbers show only the last 4 digits on screen; the agency gets the whole number, and your vault records that it was used.
  • Pick how it travels. First class, or certified mail with a return receipt so you have proof it arrived. When the agency wants it by a date, certified is picked for you. Each choice shows its price. Front Door pays for it.
  • Only addresses we checked. Front Door mails and faxes only to addresses copied from the agency’s own forms and pages, and shows you where each one came from. If we have not checked an address for that agency, the page says so and sends nothing. Washington’s DSHS and Health Care Authority come first.
  • Sent once. Each letter has its own key with Lob, so trying again never mails it twice. You can follow it on the page: handed to USPS, on its way, delivered.
  • Fax it for me. The same flow by fax, with a fax cover sheet, once Front Door’s fax service is set up.
  • Faxes coming in reach the right person. If you turn on your own Front Door fax number, every fax to it comes to your inbox, and only you get it. Faxes to Front Door’s shared number reach someone only when the cover sheet shows both our routing code and that person’s exact name. Anything else waits for a person on the Front Door team. A fax that reaches you is read like any other letter: what it means, what to do, and by when.
  • The demo site never sends. There, approving shows “In the demo, this would be sent.”
  • Until Lob setup is finished, mailing is in test mode: Lob makes a test letter and mails nothing, and the page says so.
