We count visits to our public pages with Open Analytics. Until now we turned off its click counting and passed nothing about where a visit came from. That made every visit look like it came from our own servers, so we could not tell how many different people came or where they live. To understand who Front Door reaches and plan for more people, we changed two things.

- **Clicks on public pages.** The counter now notes which buttons and links people click on public pages, with the words on what was clicked, up to 128 characters. It never reads what anyone types in a box. Clicks on the quick check, where people answer questions about their own life, are never passed on; we still count that the page was visited.
- **Cities and daily visitors.** We built the way to pass each visitor's internet address on to Open Analytics, so it can work out the city and count visitors each day. It turns on once we set up a key with Open Analytics. Their published code says it uses the address for that and then drops it, and it keeps no visitor id on your device.

What stays the same:

- The counter never runs on your own pages, your vault, your inbox, a conversation, a search, sign-in or our staff pages.
- It sends everything to our own site first, and we never pass on your cookies.
- Search words, message links and sign-in codes in a page address stay hidden.
- If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, it counts nothing.

One more change on the same page: when the AI services that write answers and read pages are busy, or our daily budget for them is spent, OpenAI now does the same work as a backup, so answers keep coming. OpenAI does not use what it reads for training, and keeps it at most 30 days to check for abuse, then deletes it. The services we use first keep nothing.

The updated [Privacy page](https://localcarehub.org/privacy) and [Terms](https://localcarehub.org/terms) say all of this. Nobody is asked to agree again or shown a notice on their own: from now on, whether a change asks you to agree again is decided by our team for each change, never automatically.
