Front Door writes some of its answers with AI models. That costs money for each question. Before a big launch we made sure one script, or a very busy day, cannot run up the bill or slow down sign-in for everyone else.

- **Floods stop at the door.** When one computer sends question after question, we turn the extras away right on our own server, before they reach our database or a model. People asking normally never notice.
- **One home counts as one visitor.** Phones and home internet often get a whole block of newer (IPv6) addresses. We now count the whole block as one visitor, so changing addresses does not reset the limit. Someone with a much bigger block of addresses gets one shared limit for all of it.
- **Shared wifi still works.** If you are signed in at a library, school or shelter, your questions count only against your own account, not against everyone else on that wifi.
- **No model work before the check.** The opening line, the reading of your question and the reordering of nearby places now wait until the limit says yes. A turned-away question costs nothing.
- **A daily limit for everyone together.** If Front Door ever reaches its most written answers for one day, every page keeps working with its own plain answers: the programs, places, phone numbers and "Ask about this" answers taken from the page. The chat says written answers are paused until tomorrow and points to 211. Everything comes back at midnight Pacific time.
- **Our team hears about it early.** We get an email when the day reaches half, 80% and all of that limit, with the real count for the day, so we can raise it for real use or block a script.

Nothing changes in what you can ask, and you still never need to sign in to ask a question. Try it at [localcarehub.org/ask](https://localcarehub.org/ask).
